After the earthquake that devastated Abruzzi, in the farming areas of Amatrice, Accumuli, Sommati, Sant’Angelo farmers had to take care of their crops and of their animals, so they had to stay there even if their houses were destroyed. Missionland took action to bring help, teaming up with other associations who likewise did not wish just to sit back and look away.
How we helped
We brought habitable containers to the towns most destroyed. With funding from the Thiene Lions Club we brought a number of caravans to farmers so that they could go on living on their farms. Shortly after, exceptional snowfalls isolated the rural areas and made roads impassable to bring supplies. With the help of a group of off-roaders, we organized an expedition with 4x4 vehicles and on foot to deliver sacks of feed.
